Course Description
The IB Art is a studio course is a 2 year program that encompasses a group structured and self structured program that provides students with opportunities to explore, study and master processes and techniques necessary for expressing a creative visual statement. Students will draw upon local as well as global resources in pursuing individual growth. Through individual research and group interaction the students will develop artistic literacy and critical analysis of artworks from both contemporary and historical perspectives. Students will take the IB Art examination at the end of the course.
Course Goals
The Diploma Program visual arts course enables students to engage in both practical exploration and artistic production, and in independent contextual, visual and critical investigation. The course is designed to enable students to study visual arts in higher education and also welcomes those students who seek life enrichment through visual arts.
