Inspiring Learning
Basic Academy visual arts course encourages students to challenge their own creative, cultural expectations and boundaries. In addition to exploring and comparing visual arts from different perspectives and in different contexts, students are expected to engage in, experiment with and critically reflect upon a wide range of contemporary practices and media. The courses are designed for students who want to go on to study visual arts in higher education as well as for those who are seeking lifelong enrichment through visual arts.

Palette, Popcorn, & Punch
Thursday October 24th from 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Parents, staff, and students! Bring your friends out for a fun night of painting by following a local artist in producing your own masterpiece. Nibble on popcorn, have some soda and take home a great memory. This month we will be painting Halloween Theme. in Rm 644.

Stroll ‘n Roll,
Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Stoll ‘n Roll actually takes place along a mile stretch of Paseo Verde Parkway (from Desert Shadow Trail near the Henderson Multigenerational Center, to Palomino Village at Discovery Park). The eastbound lanes will be open only to pedestrian traffic and to those on bicycles, skates, or skateboards. We’ll have music, vendors, and the like along the route, and Basic Academy will be displaying students’ super cool bike helmets installation there.
