Course Outline

Course Outline

College Board’s Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) enables willing and academically prepared students to pursue college-level studies with the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both while still in high school.

Through this AP course the student will build on past works, learn important hand skills, learn how to build a body of work through an inquiring question while documenting their progression, finally culminating in a challenging Art Portfolio that has shown practice, experimentation and revision. This will be seen through 15 Digital slides and an essay of 1200 characters. There will be also 5 physical artworks sent to AP central for assessment of quality of work.

Through this riger program the Art students will learn to think critically, construct solid arguments, and build a strong artistic foundation.

Research indicates that students who score a 3 or higher on an AP Exam typically experience greater academic success in college and are more likely to earn a college degree than non-AP students.
