Course Goals
Upon completion of this course, the student will:
1. Acquire and use working vocabulary that can be used in multiple fields of study and occupation.
2. Gain real world knowledge that can be apply to their specific topic of study.
3. Become proficient in the tools, techniques, and practices of the study of aesthetics.
4. Develop skills that are necessary to investigate and perceive the world around them.
5. Work in a self disciplined manner in completing art projects within a specific time.
6. Develop individual expression and aesthetic.
7. Compile an advanced placement portfolio. Prepare to take the AP class the following year.
8. Understand how to critique and evaluate art.

How to Design a Drawing Portfolio: will understand the makeup and procedures of a Drawing Portfolio.
Basic drawing: will understand The basic set up how draw realism.
Drawing value: will learn how to draw using a value chart.
Still Life drawings: will understand how to use value and color in drawing glass, metal and fabric, as well as organic objects.
Perspective drawing: will learn how to use 1, 2, and 3 point perspective.
Printmaking: will learn how to use linoleum in reduction prints, scratchboard, and monoprints.
Painting: will learn the set up in how to paint realism watercolor and acrylic media.
Portrait drawing: will learn the setup in how to draw realistic portraits of people.
Figure drawing : will learn the setup in how to draw dynamic and realistic human form
Mixed Media: will learn to use a variety of media in a single piece.
Skeleton Masterpiece: will draw a skeleton
Landscape drawing: will learn how to setup and draw a realistic landscape.
Seascape drawing: will learn how to setup and draw a realistic seascape.
